Madonna Sued After Starting Concert Later Than Advertised

For years, Madonna has been notorious for starting her concerts late.

In fact, she famously said at one of her shows in 2019, “There’s something you all need to understand. And that is, that a queen is never late.”

But her lateness at a recent show in Brooklyn has led to two fans bringing a class-action lawsuit against her.

According to CBS News:

Madonna’s Celebration tour concerts at Barclays Center were scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m., but the pop icon “did not take the stage until after 10:30 p.m. on all three nights,” according to the suit filed Wednesday in Brooklyn federal court. Plaintiffs Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, who attended the Dec. 13 show, said they wouldn’t have purchased tickets if they’d known the concert would start and end so late.

The plaintiffs are also suing the venue and promotion company for “wanton false advertising and negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.”

They also made the claim that the show ending late led to a shortage in ride sharing options and since the show was on a weeknight, it’s difficult to keep up with work and family responsibilities the following day.
