LOCAL RESEARCH FUNDED BY STEPPIN’ OUT IN PINK

Written by on June 27, 2026

By now, most of our community has at least heard of . Steppin’ Out in Pink with Gundersen Medical Foundation. The 21st Annual event is Saturday, September 12, 2026. Our community gets together to raise money for breast cancer research, programs and awareness in Riverside Park. All money stays here to support local research and patients at Emplify by Gundersen!

But what kind of research is being done right here in La Crosse? Is it for individual cases or broader studies? Is this local research able to be used around the world? Olivia Moths, Gundersen Medical Foundation Philanthropy Program Coordinator, and Dr. Paraic Kenny, Director of the Kabara Cancer Research Institute in La Crosse, came to talk about the event and what your donations help support:

Funding from Gundersen Medical Foundation’s annual Steppin’ Out in Pink breast cancer fundraising walk enables our research scientists to move quickly to investigate promising new therapies and, often, to perform studies on patient specimens while the patient is going through treatment.

There’s entertainment in Riverside park and throughout the route, an impactful survivor walk, a vendor market, food trucks, and more. Early bird registration is through June 30th! Find more information donate and register now HERE!
