DREW BARRYMORE BRINGS BACK JOSIE GROSSIE, PLAYS SKIPPER IN PRE-TAPED MTV BITS

In case we needed more examples of why we need writers, the MTV Movie and TV Awards reminded us. A host-less, pre-taped version of the show was the first big awards show to air during the screenwriters’ strike, featuring lots of commercials and past recycled live clips.

There were a few pre-taped sketches with planned host, Drew Barrymore, that were hilarious! The opening segment shows her going full Josie Grossie from Never Been Kissed, still trying to get her first kiss. This time she’s searching in a bunch of recent films including Top Gun Maverick, Cocaine Bear, and more:

She also starred in a beautifully edited skit about trying to play Skipper in the new Barbie movie:
