G.E.T. FRESH BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT

The 4th Annual G.E.T. Fresh! (Getting Everyone Together) Back to School Readiness Event is a vibrant community event focused on supporting La Crosse youth and families as they head into the 2025–2026 school year with confidence, resources, and community connection. This year’s event will be Saturday, August 16th, 2025, from 9 am to 1 pm at the La Crosse Main Branch Library, 800 Main Street.

Erin Raymus and Karolee Behringer from Planned Parenthood joined Ballzer to speak more about the event:

All are welcome to enjoy free resources, open and welcoming conversations about health, and a space designed to uplift and empower. This event is open to all with a focus on our Black and Brown families in our community.

Everything is available on a first-come, first-served basis. G.E.T. Fresh provides a backpack filled with school supplies. Hairstylists with experience braiding and working with waves, curls, coils, and ringlets will be available for those students wanting a fresh look for the school year! The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration will provide lunch during the event, and local organizations will host booths, share resources, and connect with attendees.

Supplies still needed to pack backpacks; in hopes to gather enough supplies to help 150 students. Donations can be dropped off at Planned Parenthood of WI 1201 Caledonia St. in La Crosse.
