‘Leave Your Troubles Behind and Escape to the Arts and Humanities’ — United Fund for the Arts and Humanities Announces 2025 Annual Fundraising Campaign
United Fund for the Arts and Humanities (UFAH) supports twelve regional arts and humanities non-profit organizations in our community. They work as an umbrella fund so donors can support multiple non-profits locally to improve the social, economic, and environmental aspects of our community life.
This year’s campaign chairs, Jay Lokken and Ken Riley, joined the Morning Buzz to talk about UFAH and why supporting the arts is so important.
Right now, they’re about halfway to their goal overall, so they can really use your support if you’re able.
Learn more about UFAH and how to volunteer or donate if you’re able on their website! Follow them on Facebook for updates and don’t miss the chance to support at Turtle Stack Brewery Tuesday, November 18. Their Pints for a Purpose program will donate 10% of beer sales and 100% of tips to the UFAH campaign.
In their Annual Campaign letter, Ken and Jay said they “recognize power of the arts to uplift, inspire, and provide a much needed respite from the challenges of daily life. The twelve incredible organizations we support bring music, theater, history, and so much more to our region—creating opportunities for connection, reflection, and joy. Whether it is a captivating performance, a stunning exhibit, or a powerful story, the arts allow us all to step away from our worries and into a world of creativity and wonder.”
United Fund for the Arts and Humanities supports twelve regional arts and humanities non-profit organizations. Member organizations include:
– Coulee Chordsmen
– Great River Festival of the Arts
– Heider Center for the Arts
– La Crosse Area Youth Symphony Orchestra
– Seven Rivers Youth Choir, previously known as the La Crosse BoyChoir
– La Crosse Chamber Chorale
– La Crosse Community Theatre
– La Crosse Historical Society
– La Crosse Girlchoir
– La Crosse Symphony Orchestra
– Mississippi Valley Archeology Center
– Pump House Regional Arts Center
Donors have the benefit of investing in multiple non-profit arts and humanities organizations with one donation. Organizations’ ticket sales and memberships provide only a small portion of needed arts funding. Therefore, distributions from UFAH are crucial for the success of our member organizations by creating a strong financial base that enables their continued pursuit of excellence in programming.
