HOW TO SUPPORT THE LA CROSSE WARMING CENTER

The La Crosse Warming Center provides a warm place to sleep for members of our community that are experiencing homelessness. They need volunteers to help staff the Center and also donations for their guests. Find a list of what is needed, sign up to volunteer, purchase from their Wish List or make a monetary donation HERE!

Lacey Hein and Johnny Wadzinski stopped in to talk about how they’ve already been at capacity, the programs they over for shelter guests, and what they need most right now:

Not only is the Warming Center seeking volunteers, but they are also in need of donations. The biggest need is always blankets and men’s warm clothing.

With the help of our sponsors, Optical Fashions, Zcare will donate a dinner purchased at Pogy’s Catering and breakfast items next week to their clients.

If your family or organization is interested in providing any meals for this season, reach out to the Warming Center to get on the schedule:

• Sign up to provide a meal for breakfast or dinner.
• Sign up to volunteer for a shift. If you are not a current volunteer, please complete their volunteer form first.

They are always accepting donations – currently looking for any and all donations (any toiletries, socks, mittens/gloves, underwear, clothing, etc) to help serve their guests! If you have any items for donation, please reach out to Johnny by calling or texting 608-769-4157 to work something out together.

They serve 19 counties with so many programs to help our community, not only during the holidays, but year round!

Catholic Charities has lots of other fantastic programs to help our community. Year round, CC has their St. Lawrence Community Services, including financial advisors and housing counseling. They also assist in Fostering and adoption services, and help for the holidays.
