February 21, 2023 5:20 pm
Press Break Late Night

Feminism Untapped is hosting its first forum on Tuesday, February 21st at Press Break Late Night (118 3rd St. South, La Crosse) titled: Finding Joy in the Journey. Speakers include Tracy Littlejohn, Alice Holstein, Chandra Crane, and Heidi Svee. Each will talk briefly about finding joy in their experiences and backgrounds, the adversity that they face, and overcoming obstacles.

Tracy Littlejohn is the Executive Director of Housing for the Ho-Chunk Nation. She is an activist/co-conspirator, an unofficial tribal historian, and a doting grandmother. Alice Holstein is a former organizational consultant and VA Peer Support Specialist as well as an author and community volunteer. Alice states that she has both suffered from and triumphed over having a severe mental illness. Chandra Crane is a Boudoir and Self Empowerment Photographer who followed her childhood dream to be a photographer and be a part of people’s healing journeys. Heidi Svee is the Director of Programming and Personnel at New Horizons Shelter and Outreach Centers. She speaks about the importance of making mistakes and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones.

Doors will open at 5:20 pm for networking and food will be available for purchase. Panelists will speak at 5:45 and the night will wrap up by 7:00 pm.

Feminism Untapped (formerly known as Feminism on Tap) is a space to gather and learn about our community in a safe, equitable, and joyful way that welcomes and accepts everyone while learning about important topics and gaining ideas and tools for our own lives. As a community, our goal is to empower and engage local intersectional feminists of all backgrounds and identities by “untapping” local feminist issues without the pressure to consume alcohol.

Our first location, Press Break Late Night is a local Black-owned business that is graciously hosting the event as well as providing the food that people can purchase for the event.
