Coulee Region Veterans Week is a community effort to unite and celebrate. The CRVW is a week of various engaging events hosted at locations across the Coulee Region. A group of community, business, university, and veteran leaders from across the Coulee Region have come together to organize the week of events.
CRVW Goals:
-Create a week of celebration and engagement
-Create opportunities for community members to connect
-Be inclusive to all community members.
-Create a sustainable and lasting event to highlight veterans in our communities.

Monday, Nov. 11
Event: Veterans Breakfast
Time: 8 a.m.
Location: UW-L Mitchell Hall, 1820 Pine St
More Info: Free breakfast for veterans, served by UW-L student-athletes. Donations benefit Freedom Honor Flight.

Event: Hall of Honor Re-Dedication Ceremony
Time: 9:45 a.m.
Location: UW-L Hall of Honor – UW-L football stadium entrance
More Info: Re-dedicate the hall and revitalize the mission of the hall to thank, honor, and celebrate veterans.

Event: Veterans Day Remembrance Service and Lunch
Time: 11:30 a.m.
Location: San Damiano Chapel, Viterbo University, 999 Franciscan Way
More Info: Special veterans service led by Fr. Conrad Targonski (retired Navy chaplain) with an address from Brigadier General John C. Hanley (U.S. Army-Retired)

Event: Bringing the Highground Veterans Memorial Park to La Crosse
Time: Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Lunda Center, Western Technical College, 319 Seventh St. N., La Crosse
More Info: Presentation by Highground Executive Director Jon Weiler featuring a drone flyover of the memorial park and display of historic military items.

Tuesday, Nov. 12
Event: “Almost Sunrise” film screening, followed by Q&A with Anthony Anderson
Time: 6 p.m., doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Location: UW-L Student Union Theater, 521 East Ave. N.

Event: Presentation by Sergeant First Class Mike Mesmer
Time: 6 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 15
Event: YMCA Military Family Day
Location: Houser YMCA in Onalaska (400 Mason St.)
Program: Family Fit Fun with Shelly L in Fitness Studio A
Time: 10:30-11:15 a.m.
Program: Zumba for Families with Brooke B in Fitness Studio B
Time: 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Location: Dahl YMCA in La Crosse (1140 Main St.)
Program: Family Yoga with Cheryl N in Fitness Studio
Time: 5-5:35 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 16
Event: Veteran Community Service Project
Time: Two shifts available – 8 a.m.-noon and 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Location: 611 Adams St.
More Info: This is a chance for veterans to give back to the community and get out to do some active volunteering together. One group will be demoing at a rehab house on Adams Street and the other group will be making benches at the same location. After the benches are made, Habitat will work with student groups to paint/decorate. The benches will be sold to help raise funds for the veteran house.
