#BLACKOUTTUESDAY #THESHOWMUSTBEPAUSED

Written by on June 2, 2020

Today is Blackout Tuesday, a planned collective action by elements of the music industry to protest racism and police violence. #TheShowMustBePaused is an initiative created by two black women in music, Jamila Thomas & Brianna Agyemang, in observance of the long-standing racism and inequality that exists from the boardroom to the boulevard. You can read their statement and learn more HERE.

  • Are you an ally and want to learn more? Here are some anti-racism resources.

Social media users urge anyone posting a black screen as part of the protest not to use the #BLM and #BlackLivesMatter hashtags in their posts so it doesn’t obscure the channel that’s being used to share vital information.
