HACKS TO KEEP MOSQUITOES OFF YOUR PATIO

Written by on July 9, 2020

Staying at home is great and all, but mosquitoes are loving how stationary people have been this summer! There’s lots of way to help keep mosquitoes off you, and some you may not have know about.

Helpful products

Tiki Torches and citronella candles/lanterns are simple but relatively effective ways to keep those suckers at bay… plus they look cool!
Bug Zappers don’t discriminate to kill only mosquitoes but they’re pretty good at killing everything they touch with a disturbing, yet soothing sound.
Ultrasonic plug ins have been helpful for some people. THESE have decent reviews and claim to be pet and kid friendly. Perhaps they could help with your mouse problem as well?
These Mosquito Guard Repellent Bands say they’re for kids but we won’t let them tell us who can wear them!
You can also grab some mosquito repellent incense. If it doesn’t work, it at least smells good!

Things around the house

Coffee grounds: Pouring dry coffee grounds into pools of stagnant water pushes the mosquito eggs to the surface, causing them to dry out.
Limes with cloves: . Cut limes in half, then stick cloves in them. It smells good, looks good, and is pretty effective!
Garlic spray: It repels vampires and apparently other blood suckers! Peel and crush a few cloves of garlic, then boil them in water for 20 minutes. Load the garlic water in a spray bottle and spray where mosquitoes are. Your yard will reek like garlic, but might be worth a try. There’s even a company that will sell you some for way more than it take to takes to make it yourself. Be careful if you have puppers, though, garlic can be toxic to dogs.
