MTV VMA RECAP 2020 #COVIDEDITION

There wasn’t an audience filled with our favorite celebrities, or a red carpet before the show, but it worked. Covid-19 brought us a whole different show for the MTV VMA’s this year, but they still pulled it off, and it was quite entertaining! And I must say, Lady Gaga’s masks might have been one of the most entertaining parts of the whole night! Wow!
There were performances, virtually, across New York and it was actually pretty cool to see how they did it!
Keke Palmer joked about being the only celebrity willing to host during the pandemic, and she did a great job hosting!
Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and BTS came out on top with 4 Moonmen each, and Lady Gaga also received the first ever MTV Tricon award! Taylor Swift also made history by being the first solo female artist to win the Best Director Award for her video “The Man”! Get the full list of winners here!
And with the tragic passing of 43 year old actor Chadwick Boseman, MTV paid tribute to the actor and dedicated the VMA’s to the accomplished and much loved hero! Boseman passed away on August 28th following a 4 year battle with colon cancer.

In these strange and difficult times, I think MTV did an amazing job of delivering a quality show! One thing is for sure…music lifts us up, and we need it now, more than ever!
