Nashville Weekend Getaway

Written by on May 11, 2021

Nashville, known as music city, is home to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry, live music in every bar on Broadway, and home to mind-blowing southern food and delicious drinks. Nashville has been on Noah, and I’s travel list for a long time. I love a good deal, so I have had my eye on flights for the last few months. I found roundtrip flights from Lacrosse to Nashville for only $130 with ideal travel times, so I decided to be spontaneous and book it. Nashville is one of the most energetic cities, and we can’t wait to visit again! My Nashville travel guide covers where to stay, what to do, and where to eat, which can be done over a long weekend! Where to Stay:

The Joseph- A Luxury Collection Hotel

We caught a Friday night flight so that we could spend all day in Nashville Saturday! We stayed at The Joseph Hotel located in downtown Nashville and only a five-minute walk to Broadway. The Joseph is a luxury hotel with a fancy restaurant and bar, rooftop pool, and a beautiful city view! The Joseph was one of the most excellent hotels I have ever stayed at, and I would highly recommend booking your stay while visiting Nashville. This hotel is a prime example of Southern hospitality! We stayed at The Joseph Friday and Saturday night, and they gave us a late checkout Sunday at 3 pm so that we wouldn’t have to pay to check-in early at our other hotel Sunday night. Then at 3 pm, they held our bags while we walked across the street to eat at the delicious Martin’s Barbecue. They were very accommodating and super friendly. I also highly suggest eating at The Yolan while staying at The Joseph. Yolan is an authentic experience of Italian Cuisine, and they even offer room service right to your room. I had the most delicious Expresso Martini and dessert at Yolan. It was the prettiest dessert I think I have ever eaten.

The Graduate

Graduate Nashville is a funky electric hotel with a rooftop pool & bar. The hotel is Dolly Parton inspired by the country queens glamorous and glitzy style and an Instagram dream? Located in Midtown and a ten-minute uber drive to broadway! White Limozeen, located on the rooftop of The Graduate, is a restaurant, bar, and pool all Dolly Parton-inspired. You have to have a reservation to eat or drink at White Limozeen it is a very popular spot in Nashville.

What to Do:

Grand Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry is home to the show that made country music famous. It’s the longest-running radio show in the USA and is now dedicated to honoring the past, present, and future of county music. We were lucky enough to be in town the same weekend Luke Combs & Niko Moon were performing at The Grand Ole Opry. I surprised Noah with tickets for the concert, and we had so much fun. I highly suggest going to a show or booking a tour at the Grand Ole Opry.

Pinewood Social

Pinewood Social is a Nashville hot spot where you can spend the entire day there and be entertained. Pinewood Social has it all it’s is a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, a pool, a bocce ball court, a bowling alley, and not to mention an Instagram dream? Noah and I went bowling, ate lunch, and drank bloody Mary’s, and we had so much fun! He may or may not have kicked my butt bowling, but hey, we laughed a lot? I recommend booking your lane ahead of time online. Monday-Friday, you can bowl for 80-minutes for $60. Bowling shoes are included so you can look as stylish as me?

Honky Tonk Highway

Honky Tonk Highway- Honky Tonk Highway is a musical hub in Music City and one of the most incredible spots in Nashville. You can walk down Broadway and hear live music pouring out of every doorway! Honky Tonk Highway is home to some of country music’s greatest singers bar/restaurants. Singers such as Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, and Alan Jackson have bar/restaurants on Honky Tonk Highway. We had such a fun time grabbing a drink in some of the bars on Broadway and listening to live music. If you’re coming to Nashville to immerse yourself in the culture and have a good time, Broadway is the place to go.

Where to Eat

Hampton Social

Hampton Social is located minutes from Broadway. It’s an Instagram dream and a popular spot in Nashville. It’s famous for the floral Hey Nashville wall and Rosé All Day neon sign and swing. You may have seen it on Instagram! But it’s not just full of Instagram-able spots. The food and cocktails are so delicious! Everything we ordered was so yummy. I had a rosé slushie, and Noah had a Bloody Mary, and they were both so good. Honestly, everything we ordered for brunch was excellent. I recommend getting a reservation for Hampton Social because it is a popular spot!

Biscuit Love

We had to make a stop at Biscuit Love in Nashville to taste the famous southern biscuits. There’s usually a long line out the restaurant, but it’s well worth the wait! We grabbed a coffee while we were waiting in line and studied the menu, so we knew exactly what we wanted when we got inside. Don’t let the long line turn you away. It moves super fast! Be prepared to order when you get inside. I had the biscuits, sausage and gravy, and eggs, and it was to die for? For dessert, we ordered the bonuts, which are fried biscuit dough tossed in sugar and topped with lemon and blueberry, and they are delicious. Don’t forget to try the freshly squeezed lemonade. It is delicious! Right around the corner from Biscuit Love is the famous Nashville wings which is the perfect photo opp spot. After we took photos at the Nashville Wings, we shopped at Jessie Decker’s store Kittenish. I found the cutest outfit for Nashville at Kittenish!

City House

City House- City House is a buzzing Italian spot serving pizza, pasta, and housemade sausage with Southern ingredients and flare. I ordered the rigatoni and meatballs, and Noah ordered the pineapple pepperoni pizza. It was AMAZING. It was the perfect spot for Sunday night dinner. Every Sunday night, City House changes there menu. Honestly, if we lived in Nashville, I think this would be a weekly dinner spot?

Martin’s BBQ

Martin’s Barbecue- Tennessee is known for its barbecue. Whether it’s bbq pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, and or brisket while visiting Nashville, a barbecue is a must-stop! Martin’s barbecue was highly recommended and right across the street from our hotel. I have been craving Martin’s ever since we came back from Nashville because it was so delicious! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which comes with coleslaw on it? , a side of Hushpuppies, and baked beans. It was the best-pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. The beans had such good flavor, and the hush puppies were SO good. If you only visit one restaurant from this travel list, make it Martin’s barbecue because it is AMAZING!

Five Daughter’s Bakery

Five Daughter’s Bakery- Home of the 100 layer donut and a must-stop while visiting Nashville. My favorite was the maple glazed donut? They make their donuts daily from scratch will locally sourced ingredients. We stopped in the morning before heading to bowl at Pinewood social. We got a donut and glass of milk, and it was the perfect breakfast? There donuts have no chemical preservatives, no GMO, no hydrogenated oils, no soy, and no artificial colors or flavors. There are six Five Daughter Bakery locations in Nashville.

Legendairy Milkshake

Legendairy Milkshake- Legendairy Milkshake Bar is filled with piled-high jars of the most delicious ice cream and toppings. They were even featured on the cooking channel. We ordered the Majestic Unicorn and Shake it Up Buttercup, and they were the best milkshake we have ever had.

Yee-Haw Brewing Company

Yee-Haw Brewing Company- Features a distillery, brewery, bars, food trucks, tasting areas, beer & bottle shops, bag tournaments, and live music! We ordered moonshine slushies and enjoyed the live music. It was such a fun place to spend the afternoon and only a five-minute walk from the Joseph Hotel.

Cheese Gal

I am slightly obsessed with Charcuterie boards, so when we booked a trip to Nashville, my one request was to stop at Cheese Gal. I had been following Cheese Gal in Nashville since they opened, and they have the most beautiful charcuterie boards I have ever seen. We ordered a board ahead of time, and they were even more delicious than they looked! We spent the afternoon tasting the charcuterie board, drinking wine, and talking about how much we love Nashville. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Cheese Gal, and she was another example of southern charm. A very personable, kind business owner. I would recommend stopping at Cheese Gal if you love Charcuterie boards as much as I do! We even purchased some honey and sourdough crackers to take back home, and we created our own charcuterie board.

Nada

Nada is a Contemporary Mexican restaurant in Nashville. The Grapefruit Margarita was literally the best margarita I have ever had, and guacamole and tacos were my favorites! Located in Midtown, a fun atmosphere and delicious food.
