Will Smith will play the father of Venus and Serena Williams in a new movie, “King Richard.” Due in theaters, and on HBOMax, on November 19.
The Warner Bros film is based on the true story that follows the journey of Richard Williams, the father who helped raise two of the most gifted athletes of all time, Venus and Serena Williams. According to the synopsis on the movie’s website, “Richard has a plan that will take Venus and Serena Williams from the streets of Compton, California to the global stage as legendary icons. The profoundly moving film shows the power of family, perseverance and unwavering belief as a means to achieve the impossible and impact the world.”
