MLK DAY OF SERVICE, LEARNING, AND CELEBRATION MONDAY AT VITERBO

Written by on January 14, 2022

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is this Monday, January 17th, and once again Viterbo University is hosting a day filled with workshops, culminating in the La Crosse Community Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Monday night.

We caught up with with committee co-chair Carolyn, who is also an Author, Speaker, and Business Strategist, to find out more about the event:

Everyone is invited to attend the La Crosse Community Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. This free event is held each year to honor the legacy of Dr. King, an American civil rights hero and icon.

It will feature the presentation of the MLK Leadership Award, the Lynda Lowery Student Leadership Award, and other honors, as well as a keynote address by environmental epidemiologist, clinician, and author Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington.

If you’re not able to make the event in person, you can stream live on the Viterbo University Reinhart Institute for Ethics Facebook page.

This event is part of a full day of events for MLK Day of Service, Learning, and Celebration including workshops, lectures, and other engagement opportunities. Some of the lectures have virtual attendance options. Full schedule of events can be found HERE.
