WOMEN’S PRO FOOTBALL ‘X LEAGUE’ TO TAKE FIELD FOR FIRST TIME AFTER COVID DELAYS

Written by on March 3, 2022

The X League (The Extreme Football League) is the highest platform of women’s tackle football, established in 2019, backed by Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Ditka. They were scheduled to play their first season in 2020 but it was delayed due to Covid. Covid also prevented them from playing in 2021. Try-outs have been held, teams have been chosen, and they’re training for their season to begin this June (finally). There are 8 teams in the US; Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Kansas City and Arizona. By 2028, the league is expected to include all 32 NFL cities.

They’ve been waiting so long to play, and it’s finally time to get on the field! Subscribe to the X League’s YouTube channel for a “Field-Pass to full-length matches, features, promotional videos, viral clips, and unprecedented access to the lives of its athletes and teams, on and off-the-field.”
