“The Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler is comprised of various revealing monologues inspired by interviews with over 200 women sharing their most personal stories on their most intimate self. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience, touching on matters such as sex, sex work, sexuality, seduction, body image, love, orgasm, rape, and birth. Each of the pieces are compelling and revealing. The play is considered to be one of the most political pieces created about female sexuality. This production is a V-Day Benefit.
V-Day is a grassroots event that was initiated by Eve Ensler to Stop the Violence Against Women and is now a worldwide campaign. This production is performed by a cast of who’s who in La Crosse and local actresses.
