EARTH DAY GOES DIGITAL!

Written by on April 22, 2020

This year, Earth Day will be different. We’re used to going outside and gathering with our community to celebrate Earth Day together. This year, the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, that’s not an option but here’s lots of ways to participate online!

Earth Day‘s official website has 3 calls to action: join the global digital surge, take 24 hours of action, and watch Earth Day Live!

Earth Day Live is a three day live stream, starting this morning. It will feature celebrity cameos and high-profile speakers, including Stacey Abrams, Al Gore, Jane Fonda, Joaquin Phoenix and performances from Questlove, Ziggy Marley, Jason Mraz. They also plan at home dance parties with DJ’d sets with Talib Kweli, Madame Gandhi, and Soul Clap at night. You can check it out HERE and on their social media.

You can also find special programming on TV and streaming. National Geographic will debut Jane Goodall: The Hope tonight at 8 (already available on Disney+) and they’re teaming up with ABC News for Born Wild: The Next Generation hosted by Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts at 7pm.
BBC America will debut the She Walks With Apes Earth Day documentary, narrated by Sandra Oh and David Attenborough hosts Climate Change: The Facts on PBS at 7.
