MEET KAYLEE

Written by on June 10, 2020

Hi, my name is Kaylee Kriesel, a twenty-something-year-old lover of all things beauty, fashion, family, and travel. I started my blog -boldlipsandblondehair two years ago. I created my blog to share all the things I’m genuinely passionate about in hopes of inspiring others and to make women feel more confident. Here’s a little more about myself, so you can get to know me.

When I’m not blogging, I work at Moxy Salon and Spa as an Esthetician and Makeup Artist! My love for makeup started at a young age growing up as a dancer. I always obsessed over makeup and would beg my mom to put more lipstick on me for dance recitals. You can never have enough lipstick, though, am I right? Fun fact about me is I almost ALWAYS have lipstick on. That’s where bold lips in my blog name came from! In 2018, I was named The Best of Lacrosse’s Makeup Artist. After being named that, I started getting lots of messages about makeup. What better way to share helpful makeup tips and tricks then through Instagram? I started doing makeup tutorials on Instagram, and it became such a fun way to interact with my followers.

My family is everything, and I’m so grateful to have them. I am a big believer in putting family first. I grew up in a family of four kids, and life was always busy. I have two older sisters and one younger brother! We grew up on a Berry Farm in Wisconsin, so I learned how to start working at a young age. My dad grows raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and many more fruits and vegetables. My mom is a third-grade teacher and has the biggest heart. My mom is getting married this month, and I couldn’t be happier for her. My step-dad Alan has been in my life for eight years, and I now have two step-brothers. I love having a big family! I’m super close to my siblings; here’s a little bit about them. My older sister Melissa has been an Esthetician for eight years and helped me find my passion for skincare. She’s a momma of three beautiful kids, and she’s always busy! She has a ten-year-old daughter Paige, a six-year-old son Owen, and a one-year-old daughter Taytum. Being an aunt is one of my all-time favorite things! The best part is you can spoil them like crazy and then send them home to there parents when there all sugared up! 😉 My second oldest sister Courtney is a mom of an eight-month-old Milo. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see lots of photos of Milo. My sister and her husband only live fifteen minutes always from me, so I am constantly visiting them. Courtney owns two daycare centers, and she and her husband are constantly flipping a house or designing something. Then there’s my little brother Kevin who isn’t so little anymore. He helps run my dad’s Berry Farm and is a business major at Viterbo University! Growing up, everyone thought we were twins because we bickered like it, but now he’s my best friend.

My Dad, siblings, and my brother-in-law at my sister Courtney’s wedding❤️
My Mom, Step-Dad, siblings, brother-in-law, and boyfriend in Jamaica!

Then there’s my other half and the guy that keeps me going. I met my boyfriend, Noah, in high school. He played basketball, and I danced at his games, so I always saw him as the cute basketball player. Honestly, he was in a lot of my classes, and I would always ask him for help because he was SO much smarter than me! One night I left the school and went to Subway with my sister after a game. Having a total blonde moment, I drove away with my school books on top of my car and didn’t even notice. If you know me this isn’t very surprising I’m not the best driver! Haha Noah was leaving that night and saw the whole thing happened. The funniest part was in high school I drove a teal convertible slug bug, so I’m sure I just looked like a total blonde? But, sure enough, he brought my books to me, and my sister convinced me to text him and thank him, which I’m so glad I did. From then on, we haven’t stopped talking. I guess sometimes blonde moments pay off! Haha, We have been dating for seven years this December, and it’s honestly flown by. Noah just graduated from the University of Lacrosse with a business degree and just went full time. He’s such a hard worker, and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of him. Noah is also a part-time fashion photographer- okay, not really, but he takes most of my blog photos. Honestly, he’s pretty dang good at it;) Now that he graduated college, we’re so excited to see what the future holds. We will be building a house next year, and I’m so excited to bring you all along for the journey.

I love sharing my finds with you guys in not only fashion and makeup, but also home decor, recipes, travel, personal content, and so much more. On my Instagram, I post weekly try-on sessions and makeup tutorials and can’t forget my favorite Monday, Amazon Hauls. Every Monday, I unbox my Amazon packages on camera, and it’s so fun. You can usually find me at the local Starbucks, binge watching Hulu, or shopping at Nordstrom. Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you follow along. -XOXO
