THIS COULD BE THE FUTURE OF CONCERTS

Written by on August 13, 2020

We all miss live music. We miss the sound of our favorite artist singing to us in an arena filled with screaming fans, and everything else that goes along with the experience! The U.K. has opened its first socially distanced concert venue and we think it looks pretty amazing! The venue seats 2,500 people on 500 spaced-out viewing platforms, or in socially distanced pens. I personally am not a fan of huge crowds, even pre-Covid, so the idea of being spaced out a bit more is pretty exciting to me! It almost has a V.I.P. feel to it! Fans occupy separate pens to force social distancing, ahead of the Sam Fender rock concert at the Virgin Money Unity Arena, a pop-up venue for the gig in Gosforth Park, Newcastle, northern England, Tuesday Aug. 11, 2020. Fans in groups of up to five people will watch the show from 500 separated zones at what the promoters say is the world’s first socially-distanced COVID-19 gig. Of course we don’t know if this type of venue is coming to the U.S. for sure, and if it does what the price of tickets will be. But if and when it does, we’ll be ready! Just make sure there’s a beverage/snack cart to go down the aisles, and we’re all set! Fingers crossed cause we need concerts, ASAP!
