SALVATION ARMY #SEASONOFGIVING

Written by on November 30, 2020

The Salvation Army’s slogan is “Doing the Most Good” and they live up to it. They give those without a home a safe and warm place to stay and their kitchen serves 3 meals a day! We spoke with Christina Knudsen, Development Director of The Salvation Army of La Crosse County, to find out more about what they do and how the community can help!

They’re still looking for bell ringers and donors for their Red Kettle Campaign. You can sign up to ring HERE and donate online HERE.
They’ve had a generous outpouring from the community for their Angel Giving Tree Program but are still in need of items to help: food for baskets like peanut butter, jelly, cans of green beans, cake mix, frosting, and Ramen noodles.

As winter approaches their top items are items that keep people “dry” and “warm” like: foot powder, athletes foot cream, socks, hand and foot warmers, deodorant, blankets, tarps and/or ponchos/garbage bags, Monistat, long johns, and of course hats, quality gloves, boots, shoes, jackets, and snow pants.

Z93’s Season of Giving also made a $500 donation thanks to Dairyland Power Cooperative and your local Touchstone Energy Cooperatives!
