I was hooked within the first 15 seconds of this trailer. I think you might be too, but we have to wait a couple of weeks to watch the full documentary on Netflix.
Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal on Netflix comes out on Wednesday, March 17. The description reads, “Reenactments drive this documentary investigating the mastermind behind a scam to get the kids of rich and famous families into top US universities.”
The Los Angeles Times reports “at the center of the scam and the documentary is mastermind William “Rick” Singer, who pleaded guilty to a number of charges related to the ploy in 2019 and faces up to 65 years in prison for his crimes.”
The documentary includes interviews and court footage, and actors hired to reenact recorded scenarios between Singer and his wealthy clients. It also includes re-created FBI wire tap conversations. It’s amazing what people will say when they don’t know who’s listening. Wow!
This one is on my list, for sure!
