Weekend in Wisconsin Dells

Written by on August 17, 2021

Growing up, I always looked forward to a trip to The Wisconsin Dells during Summer! It was one of my favorite summer traditions with my family. Every year we drive up for the day to go to Noah’s Ark and visit the downtown Dells, but this summer, we made a weekend out of it. I thought it would be fun to share a Wisconsin Dells travel guide on our favorite places we visited. I recommend going Sunday-Monday because the lines are less busy and it makes for a more fun trip!

Where to Stay

The Grand Marquis Waterpark

The Grands Marquis Hotel- We stayed at the Grand Marquis Waterpark Hotel & Suites. It’s only a five-minute drive to Noah’s Ark, and the best part is you get free Noah’s Ark passes with your stay. We loved the Grand Marquis Hotel because they had three different water areas and were super kid-friendly.

Where to Eat

The Grateful Shed- I highly recommend visiting The Grateful Shed when you are in the Wisconsin Dells. It’s a fun venue with food trucks, live music, games, drinks, shakes, and ice cream sandwiches. It’s such a fun place for adults and kids of all ages. It’s right next to Noah’s Ark!

What to Do

Original Wisconsin Ducks– The Wisconsin Duck tour splashes into the Wisconsin River, Lake Delton, and scenic wilderness trails. It’s such a family-friendly adventure and something you have to do when visiting the Wisconsin Dells.

Noah’s Ark- Noah Ark is America’s Largest Waterpark located in the Waterpark Capital of the World! We’re lucky enough to have Noah’s Ark only an hour’s drive from us. There’s so much to do there for all ages!

Timbavati Wildlife Park- Timbavati Wildlife Park is a animal park with giraffes, monkeys tigers, and so many more animals! It’s such a fun place to visit with so many different family-friend activities.

Downtown Dells- Another one of our favorites to do when in The Wisconsin Dells is walk around downtown. We ate dinner at a restaurant called The Keg & The Patio. It’s a family-friendly sports bar with live music and a patio right downtown Dells. After dinner, we went to the Goody Goody Gum Drop Candy Shop, the Dell’s largest candy shop. Then we ended the night with ice cream downtown!
