ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME NOMINEES ANNOUCED
Written by Ballzer on February 2, 2022
Social media is already lit up about this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees, as they are every year. What is even classified as rock & roll? How is (fill-in-the-blank) not inducted yet? “I’ve never even heard of _____”
Whatever your opinion, here’s the facts. 17 nominees were announced this morning and online fan voting goes through the end of April.
Beck, Duran Duran, Eminem, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon and A Tribe Called Quest all received their first nomination this morning but Eminem is the only artist scoring a nod in his first year eligible. Fela Kuti, Pat Benatar, Dionne Warwick and Eurythmics are nominated for their second time in 2022. Being nominated a third time are Kate Bush, the New York Dolls, Devo and Judas Priest. Rage Against the Machine has still not made the final cut but is now a 4-time nominee, while MC5 earned a 6th nomination.
