LOW BUDGET HORROR “SKINAMARINK” HAS TWITTER SHOOK

Written by on January 13, 2023

The horror Twitterverse has been praising how terrifying it is, and recommending that the faint of heart abstain from watching. The lo-fi indie debut from Kyle Edward Ball, filmed in his childhood home, is being hailed as an instant classic by some viewers. The trailer doesn’t give us much, but the synopsis says:

“Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. To cope with the strange situation, the two bring pillows & blankets to the living room and settle into a quiet slumber party. They play well worn videotapes of cartoons to fill the silence of the house and distract from the frightening and inexplicable situation. All the while in the hopes that eventually some grown-ups will come to rescue them. However, after a while it becomes clear that something is watching over them.”

While it has an IMDB rating of 5.2 and Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 57%, it’s possible that a lot of viewers were left with the feeling of, “what did I just watch?” It’s also possible that it’s just bad, check it out at your own risk.
