AARON RODGERS MEMORIES…FROM A VIKINGS FAN??

Written by on March 15, 2023

Wednesday afternoon, quarterback Aaron Rodgers made it known during his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show that he does, in fact, intend on suiting up for the New York Jets in the upcoming season.

Without a doubt, he’s been a generational talent and his contribution to professional football will never be questioned.

But, as a Vikings fan, this man has been a nuisance for the better part of 20 years. The way he gleefully carved up my favorite team has been frustrating to say the least.

So as the news was rolling in, I got to thinking about two specific times this man managed to indirectly get under my skin.

Christmas Eve 2016:

I was there for this ridiculousness. And worst of all, I had great seats on the 40 yard line.

Aaron went 28 for 38 passing on this fateful day, passed for FOUR touchdowns and ran one in. Effectively ruining Christmas.

December 3rd, 2016.

If this one sounds vaguely familiar, it’s the game where the Packers made a comeback against Detroit and won it on an impossible Hail Mary pass.

I had no rooting interest in this game but I had met up with some friends to watch the game. One friend proceeding to get obscenely over served and I was enlisted to take care of them. After dealing with their “refunding” and they had gone to bed, I turned the radio broadcast on and heard Wayne’s call. That one sticks out. Not Aaron’s fault that I had some bad luck that night, but his success that night certainly didn’t help.

Thanks for the memories, Aaron. I guess.
