CHATTING WITH AN AERIALIST AND THE HUMAN ROCKET BEFORE THE CARDEN CIRCUS COMES TO LAX ON MONDAY

Written by on May 2, 2023

The Carden International Spectacular Circus returns to the La Crosse Center Monday, May 8th! We caught up with Aerialist Ashley Ojeda and her husband, stunt actor Leo Garcia, to find out what to expect and how they got into performing:

Ashley Ojeda is a 3rd generation circus performer from Dallas, TX. “My dad comes from world famous musical clown family and my mom was from a small town near the border who met my father and fell in love. She joined the circus and we have never left since. Performing since I was 7, I have worked as an aerialist all over US and Canada keeping on the circus tradition that we all love! Currently I’m performing the motorcycle high wire, the aerial hair-hang, I get to ride an elephant, and I shoot my husband out of a cannon!”

Her husband, Leo Garcia is a six-generation circus performer! “I have been performing since the age of 4. I started with my parents on the flying trapeze but as I got older, I developed my skills and love for the more extreme stunt acts. Other talents include Globe of Death motorcycle rider, motorcycle high wire, the giant pendulum or known as the Wheel of Destiny, and of course I am the Human Rocket! AKA (Human Cannon Ball). Every day I get to do what mankind has dreamt about doing for centuries. The ability to fly!!”
