Ari says Thank You, Next to the Grammys

Here’s the sitch. The Academy and Ari couldn’t agree on song choice, so she backed out of the festivities altogether. She wanted to perform her current hit, 7 Rings and the producers said no. They would only agree to that song, if it appeared as part of a medley, featuring another song of their choosing. She found the entire scene insulting and will boycott this year’s Grammys. That’s right. Ariana is NOT attending the awards ceremony at all, despite the fact that she’s nominated for best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance.

According to Harper’s Bazar, LA is plastered with billboards of Ari promoting her performance on the awards show. So, is all of this a publicity stunt? We’ll find out Sunday night.
