Making The Most Of Our Potholes

Written by on February 24, 2021

It was announced today that several major streets in the city of La Crosse will be among the list of repair projects in 2021. Jackson Street and State Road are set see repairs this year.

So while a lot of chatter on social media has been positive there have, of course, been grumbles about why repairs haven’t been made to other road problems.

If you’ve lived or driven through La Crosse, you more than likely have hit a pothole that has shaken the very soul from your body.

So while we wait to have other parts of the streets fixed, why not make good use of the existing potholes?

Maybe setup a QR code next to a pothole on La Crosse Street, that when you scan it, it tells you the history of said pothole?

Instead of using bars as a way to give people directions, let’s use potholes as landmarks! “Yeah, you hit three potholes, take a left at the light, a right at another pothole, and you’re here!”

Or we could turn some of the potholes into Kwik Trip Hot Spots! If you’re going to hit a pothole, you may as well walk away with a rib sandwich and a coupon for a soda refill.

Modern problems require modern solutions.
