For Taylor Swift, We Stan

Written by on July 23, 2020

Normally when Taylor Swift has new music on the way, she likes to leave cryptic clues in her social media posts for her fans to decipher, driving them into a frenzy. So that’s why it was pretty shocking to have her surprise us the way she did by announcing her 8th studio album is dropping at midnight. “Folklore” was written and produced while she was in quarantine with a hand from Jack Antonoff and Wisconsin’s favorite folk crooner, Bon Iver.

So, I thought I’d share my top 3 favorite Taylor Swift songs, in no particular order, to mark the occasion!

1.I Knew You Were Trouble

Off her album RED, to me it feels like she really hit her pop stride on this one. Even throwing some dubstep-like elements into the mix. Plus, it reminds me of when I got my start at Z93.

2. Shake It Off

I remember when this video dropped and immediately thought within 30 seconds, “We are going to play this. A. Lot” on Z. And we did. And it’s still great. Plus, it never fails to pack a dance floor at weddings.

3. Our Song

You know that feeling when you’re in a brand new relationship and everything is fun and new. This song paints such a clear picture of that exact feeling. Sure, it’s a little cheesy. But it’s fun!
