Man Survives Being Lost At Sea, Survived On Ketchup, Heinz Wants To Find Him

Back in December, 47-year-old Elvis Francois from St. Maarten was working on his boat when the weather took a turn and sent him drifting out to sea.

He was stranded for weeks until the Colombian Navy found him about 120 miles away. It was reported by CBS News that Elvis had survived solely on ketchup and seasoning.

Heinz Ketchup recently found out about the ordeal and posted on Instagram that they’re looking to get in touch with Francois and they want to buy him a new boat.

According to CBS News:

a spokesperson for Heinz said that they want to “gift” Francois a “new state-of-the-art boat.” That boat, they said, will be “equipped with full navigational technology to avoid another disaster in the future.”

Sure beats a lifetime supply of ketchup. As I’m assuming, he’ll avoid the condiment for a bit.
