MISS LA CROSSE/OKTOBERFEST – MENTAL HEALTH IN OUR COMMUNITY

Written by on February 21, 2022

Maddie Adickes is our current Miss La Crosse/Oktoberfest and serves as an ambassador for the La Crosse community as part of the Oktoberfest Royal Family. She also performs countless hours of volunteer work promoting her personal platform, B4Stage4: changing the Way We Think About Mental Health. Maddie also works as a registered nurse in the behavioral health unit at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Maddie joined us to discuss the importance of her platform and also the opportunity to have her come to your school, work place, business, or organization to promote mental health and self care.

Miss La Crosse/Oktoberfest,
Maddie Adickes

A note from Maddie: “I find great value in the mission and vision that is practiced and embodied in every aspect throughout the organization. Striving to enhance the health of the community, as well creating a positive impact through every interaction is a concept that resonates with me in my life today. I believe that there is a direct connection to this vision and the work that is seen within the inpatient behavioral health field. There is an added layer of compassion and emotional awareness that is essential to promote healing and well-being to result in positive health outcomes for this demographic of patients. I am confident that I am strong in my skills to interact holistically and to understand this deeper level of connection necessary for behavioral health.”
